What is a Heat Recovery System
(MVHR) & Why Do I Need One?
A ventilation system with heat recovery (HRV) or (MVHR system) is an energy efficient, controlled and balanced ventilation system that extracts moist, stale air from all the wet rooms in your house and replaces it with filtered and recovered warm air. This provides fresh air to all your habitable rooms and bedrooms, without letting the heat escape. Installing an MVHR System will allow your home to be fully ventilated throughout the year, with as much as 95% of heat that would normally be wasted being recovered, providing substantial energy savings. The MVHR system will allow your property to stay air tight, with no requirements for window vents or bathroom extractor fans. Systems are controlled by a centralised unit away from the living areas meaning your home will not only be a healthier, but quieter living environment too. As air tightness and insulation becomes more and more important, particularly in new build projects, ventilation and the prevention of heat loss is essential when designing the perfect home.
